English Story: The Knight and the real World
There was once a heroic knight. He was one of the knights whose triumphant deeds are still recounted in the old stories, in all languages, everywhere. His bravery was great and his sword was feared, but he was tired of hunting for dragons, ogres and monsters in story after story. He decided to abandon that fairytale world, and come and test out his bravery and skill in the real world.
داستان انگلیسی: شوالیه و جهان واقعی
روزی روزگاری شوالیه ی قهرمانی بود که اعمال قهرمانانه اش هنوز در داستان های قدیمی و به همه ی زبان ها در همه جا نقل می شد. این شوالیه بسیار شجاع بود و شمشیرش هر کس را می ترساند. اما او دیگر از کشتن اژدها و هیولا و دیو در داستان ها خسته شده بود و روزی تصمیم گرفت دنیای پریان قصه ها را ترک کند و مهارت و شجاعت خود را در دنیای واقعی امتحان کند
However, when he arrived here, he found no terrible creatures, no evil wizards, not even a poor stepmother to wave his sword at.
اما به هر جا رفت، نه موجود وحشتناکی دید، نه سوسمسار خون خواری و نه حتی نامادری فقیری که برای او شمشیر بکشد.
It was very strange. All he saw were worried people, with the same looks on their faces as he had seen on the faces of people he was rescuing from dragons or ogres.
خیلی عجیب بود، ولی فقط آدم های نگرانی را دید که چهره شان شبیه همان کسانی بود که آنها را از دست اژدها و غول و هیولا نجات داده بود.
It didn’t seem like there was anyone to put them in such fear, or to make them live in a state of such anxiety. Everyone hurried here and there, not speaking to anyone, as though something terrible was about to happen.
اما به نظر نمی رسید کسی موجب نگرانی و اضطراب این آدم ها شده باشد، یا آنها را وادار کرده باشد که در غم و اندوه و اضطراب زندگی کنند. همه با عجله به این طرف و آن طرف می رفتند، ولی با هم حرف نمی زدند، انگار چیز وحشتناکی در حال وقوع بود.
But, at the end of the day, nothing really bad had ever happened. And so it was, day after day. The knight thought that maybe this could turn out to be his most heroic adventure ever, and he decided to totally devote himself to finding the source of this mysterious worry in the real world. He searched, he inquired, he investigated, he sailed, he climbed… but he found nothing.
اما در انتهای روز چیز بدی اتفاق نمی افتاد. روزها همین طور سپری می شدند. شوالیه فکر کرد شاید این بزرگترین ماجرای قهرمانانه ی زندگی اش باشد و به همین دلیل تصمیم گرفت همه ی تلاش خویش را به کار ببندد، تا بفهمد منشاء این نگرانی مرموز و اسرارآمیز که در چهرهی آدم ها موج می زند، چیست. بنابراین جست وجو کرد ، پرس و جو کرد، بررسی کرد، با کشتی به این سو و آن سو رفت، از کوه بالا رفت… ولی چیزی نیافت.
Not willing to give up, he returned to the fairytale world to speak to The Wise Old Man.
هیچ دلش نمی خواست تسلیم شود، به همین خاطر دوباره به دنیای قصه های پریان بازگشت و نزد پیرمرد خردمندی که میشناخت رفت و از او پرسید
Tell me, wise one. What is the great invisible enemy that strikes fear into the hearts of people in the real world? I still haven’t found it, but I won’t rest until I have defeated whatever it is, and freed everyone. Just like I did here, for so many cities.”
«به من بگو ای مرد حکیم، این دشمن نامرئی بزرگی که ترس را به دل مردم دنیای واقعی انداخته است، کیست؟ من هنوز او را پیدا نکرده ام، اما تا زمانی که آن را شکست ندهم و همه ی مردم را نجات ندهم، آرام نخواهم گرفت. درست مثل همان کاری که در اینجا برای بسیاری از شهرها انجام داده ام».
The Wise Old Man was quiet for a long while, then finally said: “You have neither the strength nor courage to win this battle. The enemy does not exist, yet it is powerful, and as numerous as the stars in the sky“
پیرمرد خردمند مدتی سکوت کرد. سرانجام گفت: «تو قدرت با شجاعت آن را نداری که بتوانی در این نبرد پیروز شوی. این دشمن مرئی نیست، اما قدرتمند است و همچون ستارگان آسمان بیشمار است».
“What?!” protested the Knight, “Is that even possible?”
“In the real world, because they have no dragons or ogres, they invent their enemies, and they carry them inside. Each person there has an enemy made to measure, which lives inside their heart. For some it is called greed, for others envy, for others selfishness, pessimism or desperation. They have sown the seeds of negativity in their souls, and take the fruits with them wherever they go. It is no easy task to uproot all that.”
شوالیه اعتراض کرد و گفت: «چی؟ مگر چنین چیزی ممکن است؟»
در دنیای واقعی چون مردم هیچ نوع اژدها یا غولی ندارند، دشمنانی برای خود اختراع کرده اند و آنها را به درون خود برده اند. هر کس در درون خود دشمنی ساخته است، که درون قلبش زندگی می کند. بعضی ها آن را حرص و طمع مینامند، عده ای حسد، بعضی خودخواهی و عده ای هم بدبینی و ناامیدی و یأس. آنها دانه های منفی نگری را در روح خود کاشته اند و هر جا می روند، میوه های آن را با خود می برند. ریشه کن کردن این گیاهان مسموم از درون روح مردم، بسیار سخت است.»
“I will do it,” answered the knight, “I will set them free.”
And so the knight returned to the real world, bringing all his weapons with him. Everyone he met, he would offer to free them from their negative inner life.
شوالیه در جواب گفت: «من این کار را انجام خواهم داد. من مردم را آزاد خواهم کرد.»
بعد به دنیای واقعی برگشت و همه ی سلاح هایش را نیز با خود برد و به هر کس رسید به او گفت: «آیا می خواهی تو را از نیروهای مخفی درونیات رهایی بخشم؟»
However, no one paid him the slightest attention, all he found was indifference and looks of surprise.
اما هیچ کس توجهی به او نکرد و همه با حالتی بی تفاوت و تعجب زده به او خیره شدند.
Finally, exhausted and confused, he threw down his weapons and went over to a rock at the side of the road, to rest. On his way there he tripped over his sword, and fell to the ground, knocking his head against a cockerel which had been crowing in the vicinity.
سرانجام خسته و گیج شد و سلاح هایش را دور انداخت و به کنار جاده رفت و روی سنگی نشست تا استراحت کند. در همین موقع شمشیرش از غلاف خارج شد و پایین افتاد و نوک آن بر پشت خروسی که آن سوی سنگ مشغول دانه چیدن از زمین بود فرو رفت و خروس از درد به هوا پرید و ناله کرد.
A sad looking little man was passing by, and when he saw this he burst out laughing, so much so that he could hardly stay on his feet. The knight was angry, but on looking closely at the man, he could see in his eyes a joyful shine that he had never yet seen in the real world…
مرد کوچک اندام غمگینی که از آن نزدیکی رد می شد با دیدن این صحنه به خنده افتاد و آنقدر خندید که دیگر روی پایش بند نبود. شوالیه از دست مرد عصبانی شد. اما وقتی به صورت او خیره شد، توی چشمانش و چهره اش برقی شادی و لذتی دید که هرگز در دنیای واقعی مشاهده نکرده بود…
And so it was, that the knight finally found the solution to the deep sickness of the people in the real world. They only needed a smile, a laugh, a little help to banish their negative feelings, and to finally enjoy life…
و بدین ترتیب شوالیه سرانجام راه حلی برای درمان بیماری عمیق مردم دنیای واقعی پیدا کرد. آنها فقط نیاز به خنده، شادی و کمی کمک برای فراموش کردن احساسات منفی خود و لذت بردن از زندگی داشتند..
From that day on, the knight, armed with a big smile, started recruiting an army of liberators: a large and growing group of people able to remind anyone of the joy that is life.
از آن روز به بعد شوالیه، ارتش رهایی بخش خود را تشکیل داد که سربازان آن افرادی از میان مردم بودند، که می توانستند شادی ها و لذایذ زندگی را به خاطر مردم بیاورند.
And what do you know! The knight won the battle just as impressively as he always had.
و میدانید چه اتفاقی رخ داد؟ شوالیه در این مبارزه هم مثل همیشه پیروز شد.
